CLNM's Start to 2023

CLNM had their first meetings of the year on Saturday 21st January, with one being held in Scotland at the Fife House Project Base (North region) and one being held in London at the Islington House Project Base (South region). 20 young people from across England and Scotland travelled to the meetings, some of these reps were new and traveling up to Scotland or down to London for the first ever time.

Both meetings had new faces as the newly elected reps joined us for the first time and signed their contracts, with the previous years reps signing theirs too. The meetings went well and although the travel was long for some of them, they enjoyed it and are feeling a part of something special.

During the meetings new chairs and vice chairs were elected for both North region and South region. Sean (Fife rep) became Chair for the North and Daz (Midlothian rep) took on the role of Vice-Chair for the North. Jodie (Islington rep) was elected as Chair for the South and Lucy (Oxford rep) taking on the role of Vice-Chair for the South.

Some great ideas were brought up in both meetings which CLNM are excited to look into and are looking forward to the year ahead with lots of new workstreams to think through.

After the meetings WhatsApp chats were set up for each region and the Young People have been messaging continuously, creating friendships, sharing banter and good news. They will now go on to share updates about the meetings with all the young people in their Local House Projects.
